Metal crumples. Glass breaks. Plastic warps.

Cries of “Get some!” and “Break that!” ring out.

The Car Bash is in full swing.

The Car Bash and Bonfire, a Town of Mead Homecoming tradition, is an annual occurrence where residents of the town of Mead and students from MHS get together and destroy a car painted in the colors of the team football is facing off against at homecoming. Every year on the Thursday before the Homecoming football game, the students pay a small fee to get a minute with a sledgehammer and the car.

This year, the destruction of the car was rather impressive. Both rear A-Pillars were collapsed. The back doors were both crushed. The trunk no longer closed, and the hood was crumpled. Both bumpers were ripped clean off. The only things intact were the wheels and tires only because they weren’t allowed to be swung at. Glass littered the ground. Even the steering wheel was destroyed.
