Senior Bayleigh Melichar has enjoyed her time at Mead, but she is ready to expand her horizons.

Where are they going?: Bayleigh Melichar

Welcome to The Mav’s Senior Tradition where we highlight our current seniors and discuss where they are headed to.

Senior Bayleigh Melichar (‘21) has worked hard all four years of high school to maintain a 3.84 cumulative GPA. And while she has done well academically, for a while, Melichar wasn’t sure what career she wanted to pursue. That soon changed.

When Melichar took AP psychology as a junior, she became interested in the human brain and why people do what they do. As she watched crime shows and learned the human brain, she decided she wanted to pursue criminal psychology.

Melichar plans to attend Colorado Mesa University in the fall for four to six years to start her career in criminal psychology.

During her time at Mead, Melichar enjoyed football games and community events. Her favorite class was AP Psychology, and she felt the most impacted by social studies teacher Mrs. Sandoval and English teacher Mrs. Hedlun.

A piece of advice from Bayleigh to underclassmen: “Always do your homework, and ask a lot of questions.”

We wish Bayleigh the best of luck in her journey. She will be missed here at MHS!
