Where are they going?: Gage Deutsch

Welcome to The Mav’s Senior Tradition where we highlight our current seniors and discuss where they are headed

Gage Duetsch (‘23) is going to attend the United States Air Force academy in Colorado Springs. Upon graduating Mead High School, he will be serving as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.

In high school, Gage was the team captain of the Boys Wrestling team during his senior year. He also participated in state competitions for wrestling and cross country. Gage was in honor band his sophomore and junior year, low brass section leader junior and senior year, was a straight A student which resulted in a 4.367 cumulative GPA. He was also in National Honor Society.

Gage was a part of many MHS sports. He has been wrestling all four years of high school, was a manager for the softball team for three years, did cross country for two years, and he was on the track team this year.

In wrestling, Gage made Varsity his freshman, junior, and senior years. In his sophomore year he was part of JV wrestling. For cross country he made Varsity both years as an upperclassman.

Gage managed the JV softball team his freshman year and the Varsity Softball team his sophomore and junior years.

He earned the Congressional award in 2022. To earn this award, he completed 100 hours of community service, 400 hours of personal development, and 400 hours of physical fitness over his sophomore, junior, and senior years.

Gage also earned his Eagle Scout sophomore year. His eagle project consisted of designing four chamber bat boxes and an interpretive sign educating people about bats, and then leading a team in the construction and installation of these boxes at Mead Ponds.

He earned the National Certificate of merit in the category of lifesaving, an award received for carrying someone out of the woods when they were incapacitated.

We’re excited to see what Gage does and are thankful for his impact on Mead High.
