The Varsity Boys Basketball team defeated Berthoud 72-54 to make it their twelfth straight victory on January 26. It was an impressive feat that bumped them up to fourth in the poll rankings, just one vote in front of Holy Family.

With another dominating game, the final score being 72-54, the scoring was evenly distributed around the team. The point leader for this game being Nick Jacobs with 18 points and shooting 70%, according to MaxPreps. Just behind Jacobs was Jax Wilke with 16 points and shooting 63%.

As usual, the Mavericks played outstanding defense; they only allowed one Berthoud player to score more than 10 points.

Seven blocks and eight steals by Mead helped them to win the game.

The two teams had nearly the same amount of free throw attempts, but Mead came through by hitting ten more than Berthoud.

All in all, this was another game dominated by the Mavericks’ defensive presence which turned into a strong offense to push through to another win.
