Where are they going?: Hannah Fleming

Hannah Fleming shares her plans to go into the medical field.

Seniors are counting down their final few days of high school and every single student is anxiously awaiting the pursuit of their individual path. One of these goal-setting students is Hannah Fleming who plans on attending the University of Utah. She is going to study psychology with a pre-med focus. She also wants to join the marching band through all of her college years playing the flute.

Being interested in the medical field since middle school, working as a doctor was an easy and confident choice for Fleming. And aiming to work with children, Fleming plans on becoming a Registered Pediatric Hospitalist. “Throughout the years, I’ve found out that being a doctor and being able to take care of children really spoke to me.”

Fleming’s goal is to eventually study abroad in school but then to settle down back in Colorado to be near her family. Washington is another location Fleming is considering because she enjoys the rainy weather there. She stated, “I want to experience other cultures before I settle down. And if I got the choice I would study in Sweden because it’s in my family’s heritage.”

When asked how she is feeling in anticipation for college, she said, “I’m feeling excited that high school is coming to an end and that I get to experience something brand new and grow as a person.”

Fleming’s most memorable experience in high school was senior prom. “I was able to create lots of great memories with my favorite group of people and venture outside of my comfort zone.”

Fleming hilariously ended with, “Should’ve given Kirkwood a teacher assistant so that way he would be here this year!”
