“I’m looking forward to meeting new people and learning a lot and being able to discover new interests,” says Abi MacPhail.

Where are they going?: Abi MacPhail

Welcome to The Mav's Senior Tradition where we highlight our current seniors and discuss where they are headed to.

While some students itch to get away from their families by the end of high school, Abi MacPhail has chosen CSU Fort Collins for not only their environmental program but because Fort Collins is between where her brother goes to school and where her family lives.

MacPhail wants to go to a college where there are “plenty of opportunities to expand my learning and meet new people.”

“I also want to be able to explore new interests and be involved in my community.”

Even though MacPhail is thinking of studying Political Science with a concentration in Environmental Politics and Policy, she has many interests including volleyball, hiking, journalism, film, and music.

As she thinks back on the last four years, many fun memories come to mind. “One of my favorite memories is probably when I was playing volleyball and one of my friends passed the ball too low and I ran at the pole and actually ended up kicking the ball over the net and the entire team ran over and dog piled on the court and it was just so funny and unexpected.”

If she was given the opportunity to do high school over again, she wouldn’t, although she would change a few things if she could.

MacPhail is looking forward to “meeting new people and learning a lot and being able to discover new interests.”
