Where are they going?: Kaitlyn Saunders
Welcome to The Mav’s Senior Tradition where we highlight our current seniors and discuss where they are headed to.
Kaitlyn Saunders (‘21) is following in her favorite teacher’s footsteps and pursuing a music education degree at Colorado State University this fall with the intent of becoming a choir teacher. She plans to go for four years and is actively applying for various scholarships.
Most of her favorite memories are from the choir room.
“It’s just always so fun in there,” she said.
However, Saunders’s absolute favorite time was the Cañon City trip she took with the choir and band groups.
“It was very chaotic, very fun though. A lot of good memories came from that.”
Her favorite teachers were Ms. Berry and Ms. Harris in her choir classes and Ms. Warren and Ms. Ervin in the humanities.
“They are all very incredible teachers and have had such an impact on who I am.” She really enjoyed her freshman English class and AP Government.
Her advice to younger students is to realize high school can be fun: “Try not to rush through high school. Try not to want it to end so quickly because it does go by really quick”.
We wish Kaitlyn luck as she enters the next phase of her life, and we know she’ll do wonderful things with her future students.
