Where are they going?: Julia Villa
Welcome to The Mav’s Senior Tradition where we highlight our current seniors and discuss where they are headed to.
Julia Villa (‘21) worked hard in high school and participated in many school activities. While maintaining a 3.9 GPA, Villa also was part of the National Honor Society, yearbook, and student council. Overall, she enjoys helping out her community and school.
Although she’s done serving the Mead community, Villa has big plans for her journey ahead. She plans to pursue a career in the medical field as an anesthesiologist.
“My aunt is in the medical field, and her job has always interested me ever since I was little,” said Villa.
Villa will be attending the University of Northern Colorado; she received the Bear Scholarship from the university as well as a few local scholarships majoring in Biological sciences with an emphasis in Pre-Health.
Villa has been a part of student council all four years of high school. Student council requires a lot of outside-of-school commitment. Her favorite memories would have to be all of the times she got to attend outside of school events with her committee, such as food drives, talent shows, or even planning assemblies for the school.
“It allowed me to create close relationships with people I had never worked closely with before.”
If Julia could give a piece of advice to underclassmen, it would be, “Do not procrastinate. This was something I struggled a lot with all of high school. I pushed things off till the very last minute and in the end, it made things way more difficult than they should have been. Manage your time well, and get things done sooner rather than later.”
Julia will be missed at MHS, but we wish her the best of luck with her journey ahead!
