Where are they going?: Samantha Meier
Samantha Meier shares her big plans for after graduation
One senior that seems to know where her path lies is Samantha Meier, who is going to dance for Ballet Arizona. She stated, “I went to audition for them in early January and I found out I was in on January twenty-fifth!” When asked about why she was taking this route she said, “I’ve been dancing since I was four years old so I guess it’s always been a goal of mine to be a professional dancer.”
Once she gets established at Ballet Arizona, she hopes this will take her to future performances. “A dream show I’d like to perform is ‘Giselle’ with music by Adolphe Adam and choreography by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot.”
In regards to her dream location, she said that she wants to live in Philadelphia when she’s older because she has family there and fell in love with the city the first time she visited.
And who would we be without inspiring mentors and inspiring individuals? When asked who has helped her discover her passion she said, “My artistic director Kristen Kingsley is basically my second mom and she had been my teacher for the past 13 years, inspiring me to pursue dance.”
Meier’s future is looking bright and we all can’t wait to see where this journey will take her.
