Sara Jo Reeder (‘21), well known among her peers as “SJ”, has great plans for her life after high school.

Where are they going?: Sara Jo Reeder

Welcome to The Mav’s Senior Tradition where we highlight our current seniors and discuss where they are headed to.

Sara Jo Reeder (‘21) is a beloved member of the music community here at Mead and is about to embark on her college journey at Colorado State University. Reeder will be studying music education with the intent of teaching people to sing.

While she anticipates spending four years in school, Reeder plans to be a part of the Disney college program which will add a semester to her schooling.

She had the most fun in her theatre and choir classes, where the community made her feel at home. Her favorite teachers were Ms. Mackey, Ms. Harris, and Ms. Berry. She said, “They’ve really been mentors for me as I’ve grown as a person.” She said the communities of their classes have been “really impactful in [her] life”.

Her advice to underclassmen is not to be afraid “of people or activities. Things seem scary because they are new and you are young… but people are going to be nice… Take that step and talk to them, it’s totally worth it.”

We wish SJ luck as she embarks on a new and exciting adventure.
