Dress code

Graduation is a big deal. Dress up! T-shirts, shorts, and jeans are not allowed. Casual footwear including flip flops, sneakers, and slippers are not appropriate for this event. LaPorte said, “It’s a celebration — a moment to recognize everybody. You want to look nice.” Students may eventually take off their cap and gown, so make sure you dress appropriately underneath.

Cap Decorations

Students are allowed to decorate their caps, but there are limits. They must be school appropriate. 3D decorations aren’t allowed as well as vulgar language, trademarks, gang, or drug or alcohol references. The decorations also cannot be bigger than the cap itself.

Seating for Graduation

Golf carts will be available as transportation at the event. Children will sit with their families, and the ceremony will be live streamed in the auditorium. The graduation itself will be held on the football field.

Parking

Parking is limited. Graduates will ride a shuttle from Mead Middle to MHS. It is encouraged to ask families to carpool if possible. Handicap parking is also available.

Bad weather

  • If it rains graduation will be held in the main gym
  • Each graduate will only receive four, and only four, tickets
  • Live streaming will be in the auditorium
