SVVSD releases new lunch menu for 2023
SVVSD rolls out new lunch menu for 2022-23 spring semester
For the upcoming second semester of the 2022-23 school year, St. Vrain Valley Schools will be implementing a new lunch menu for schools across the district.
“There’s been some fun new recipes [the district has] been trying out,” said Amelia Gray, a SVVSD Area Supervisor in charge of menu planning. “[We’ll] have new breakfast, lunch, and snacks.”
New items include Asian baskets, chicken fingers with gravy and mashed potatoes, and the return of fan-favorite Crispitos.
The new lunch menu starts the first week back from break, Jan. 9. The only thing out of the ordinary is that there will be no salad bar the first week back from break, though there will be hot vegetables to supply kids with their nutritional needs. The salad bar will be back the following week.
“Hopefully this will help students eat more,” said Ms. Courtney Howe, an MHS counselor.
“Students would sometimes not eat lunch because they didn’t like the options. I think [they will appreciate] the variety,” she added.
