Mead High Band program set to hold free concert Monday, March 6
The concert will be held in the auditorium at 6:30 PM
The Mead Bands have been hard at work to provide quality entertainment, and now they are inviting you to join them for a night of music and fun. They will hold a free show in the auditorium, Monday, March 6th at 6:30 p.m. Free concerts have been done in years past.
The show will include performances from the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and the Advanced Jazz Band. These ensembles can have more than 40 musicians in them.
Concert Band is an ensemble of musicians who perform orchestral music with woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments.
Symphonic Band is virtually the same as Concert Band, however, they are an audition-only ensemble that specializes in more difficult Concert Band pieces. Students can audition starting in their freshman year.
Advanced Jazz Band is an audition only ensemble as well. Musicians specialize in all walks of jazz: like swing, latin, funk, ballad, and more. Advanced Jazz Band is also available to freshmen.
Come support our music program by seeing these bands live in concert Monday night!
Your donation will support the student journalists of Mead High School. Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment and cover our annual website hosting costs.
Jacob Morales is a Junior. He enjoys drumming, collecting records, and sleeping. He is involved in the Mead Marching Band, Drum-line, and Advanced Jazz Band. He’s looking forward to passing his classes this year.
