After 30 years of being wanted, Italian mafia leader Matteo Messina Denaro was arrested in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, on Jan. 15, 2023.

Messina Denaro is a leader in the mafia who was involved in the murder of two judges: Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino. Both lost their lives in 1992. Denaro was also involved in the terrorist attacks that took place in Milan, Florence, and Rome during 1993.
