Jade Marshall (‘24) plans to attend Colorado State University (CSU) to major in geology and minor in music. She plans to use her major to study the Rocky Mountains and Yellowstone.
Jade has been a member of the Mead High Marching Band for all four years. “[Band] was just really fun. It was different every year.” She was a section leader for this year’s saxophone section, which has been her passion for a while. She’s been playing the saxophone since the sixth grade, and it seemed that her love for music bloomed during that time. “I love music. I love playing music, composing music, learning music, learning instruments, all of it.”
Mead High band director Ms. Abigail Judy was cited as a major musical influence for Marshall. “She got me to play clarinet, which opened a lot of new opportunities for me. She’s always been very supportive of what I choose to do.”
Jade advises patience and says that good things will come in time. “It’s okay. It’ll all happen; you just have to give it time, and it’ll fall into place.” Getting involved in school activities is often overlooked; however, Jade encourages participation. “You can always drop [classes], but sometimes it’s harder to get into stuff later on.”
She suggests “living it up” during your senior year. “Make the most out of your last year, do a bunch of things, make a bunch of friends, and just be prepared for what’s about to come next.”
Jade is excited to finish off her senior year strong.

We are so proud of you Jade and all you have accomplished.
After a difficult start to High School after losing her Dad in an avalanche and then experiencing the disruptions of the Covid lockdown, this year has seen Jades self confidence blossom. She has had some amazing teachers at Mead. Jade is an amazing person, Academic student, Artist and Music student . On top of that she is an incredible daughter and sister. Congrats Jade on making the National Honor Society in both Academics and Art. Dream big. You can do anything you want. Love you so much.
