Dear Ms.Rue, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for being my first A.P. Teacher. I want to thank you for assigning me hard work and strict deadlines with an enthusiastic smile. I wanted to thank you for working with me after school and answering my questions calmly, without judgment. And understanding that sometimes to understand something I need a different explanation. You have a beautiful way of making things seem much smaller, and not so bad. These may seem like simple teacher things that you don’t have to think twice about, but those simple teacher things have really helped me feel more capable. Just by being you and teaching in a way that makes me want to push and challenge myself. And I really appreciate the way that you notice and understand what your students need while also pushing them to be more self driven and independent. Throughout my time as a younger student I butted heads with many teachers. Many found me too challenging and talkative of a student, and never truly made an effort to connect with me, so having a teacher who truly makes me feel seen and heard means so much. Not only have you shown me compassion and support, but you’ve shown me many things that I know I’ll use in my future. Annotated Bibliographies and MLA citations, but also a genuine understanding of my own limits and abilities in writing. Thank you for everything Ms.Rue! You are one of my most trusted adults and a person I feel safe sharing with. Sincerely, Addy Mooradian
