The star from “1,000-Ib Sisters” Amy Slaton Halterman, 36, was arrested on Labor Day for child endangerment and drug charges.
According to NBC News, Slaton Halterman was charged with illegal possession of Schedule I, illegal possession of Schedule VI, and two counts of child endangerment on Monday, said deputies from the Crockett County Sheriff Department.
Slaton Halterman has two kids, Gage Deon Halterman, 4, and Glenn Allen Halterman, 2, with Michael Halterman, who filed for divorce in March of 2023.
The deputies responded to a call saying a visitor was bitten by a camel. At this time it’s still unclear who was bitten by the camel.
When deputies arrived they were “immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle,”.
According to spokesman Stephen Sutton, with the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department, he said that when the officers showed up to the scene, they allegedly discovered “what they believed to be mushrooms and what they believed to be marijuana” inside Slaton’s vehicle.
Slaton’s children were placed in a family member’s custody following their mother’s arrest. It is still unclear what family member the children’s custody was placed into.
When following up on the situation, the Tennessee Department of Child Services started an investigation on the way they are parenting their kids, and if they put their children in dangerous situations like this often.
A.Slaton Halterman and M. Halterman were booked into the Crockett County Jail, and a judge on Tuesday set a bond at $10,000 for each of them.
