After a five-year hiatus from the stage, The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is coming back to Brooklyn, New York on October 15th.
It is rumored that the show will feature huge, returning names in the brand’s past like Tyra Banks, Gigi Hadid, and Taylor Hill.
According to an article published by LeMonde, “that its [Victoria’s Secret] annual fashion show, scrapped after 2018 due to sluggish sales and diminishing audiences…” Due to the slowing revenue of ticket and lingerie sales following the show, Victoria’s Secret decided to cancel it and bring it back this year.
In 2001, the fashion show hit its peak amassing approximately 12 million viewers and is expected to draw in even more publicity with their partnership with Adore Me and VS&Co’s other brand, VS Pink.
After being canceled in 2019, the annual show has faced pressure to evolve in line with the values of today’s consumers and modernize the show. The return of the show comes with controversy, as the brand has faced backlash due to the lack of inclusivity and diversity.
As per Elle, Victoria’s Secret pledged to uphold a “woman-led” show, flaunting big names in the music industry like Lisa, Tyla, and Cher, to perform on stage.
To buy tickets to the 2024 fashion show, you must go through a third-party concierge service or by acquiring an invite from the brand itself which has been proved to be no easy feat.
