The final track on the “Strange Trails” album “The Night We Met” is meant to have a dark and mysterious tone. However, when I hear the first chorus, I immediately mentally leave this reality to go to past fantasies.
The first verse brings me back to those times when all I had was myself but then the chorus is what lifts my spirits. “(Ooh, ooh, ooh) // (ooh, ooh, ooh)” That chorus brings me back to relationships I’ve made and the good memories I share with these same people I’ve connected with.
The second verse is where my fantasies take a turn into themes of love and affection: my heart warms. This is when a lump forms in my throat, as words cannot explain. Simply put, I experience again how grateful I am for every close bond I have with those people who hold a special place in my heart – those who have seen me fail, those who know who I truly am, and those who I know I can share an epic handshake with.
Finally, the closing chorus. “I had all and then most of you // some and now none of you // take me back to the night we met // I don’t know what I’m supposed to do // haunted by the ghost of you // take me back to the night we met.” It’s a recap of all the good I’ve done and all the fun I’ve experienced. The final instrumentals are what highlights one specific girl and most likely always will, these notes are what remind me of all of the years I’ve shared with her and many more that I will continue to have.

love this song, reading this it almost perfectly captures the true feeling and essence of the song. Its nice reading words for the feelings I felt listening to this song for the first time, quite sentimental might I add as well. Thank you.
