The University of Colorado Buffaloes football team won Friday, November 29th, against Oklahoma State university 52-0. However, they needed to have at least two out of the three things to happen in order to be placed into the Big 12 Championship game.
One: Arizona State University had to lose to the University of Arizona.
Two: Brigham Young University (BYU) had to lose to the University of Houston.
Three: Iowa State University had to lose to Kansas State University.
Unfortunately, none of these things happened. In fact, BYU beat Houston 30-18, Arizona State beat Arizona 49-07, and Iowa State won 29-21 against Kansas State. All three of the teams that had to lose to help CU progress won their respective games. Therefore, the Buffs fell shy of making it to the Big 12 Championship game.
University of Colorado’s big loss to the University of Kansas also impacted their shot for the championship game as it tied them with BYU, Arizona State, and Iowa State for 2nd place prior to their last game of the season.
Although the Buffs fell short of the biggest games in college football, they are still able to play one more game. They will either play in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, Texas or the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, California.
There is still light in the dark with them being bowl bound for the first time since 2020, but they haven’t won a bowl game in 20 years; where they won 33-28 against the University of Texas at El Paso.
