Mason Longobricco (‘25) says the band allows him to “make new friends,” and helped him find a new passion. After high school, he hopes to create a band with some of his companions. Mason Longobricco (‘25) said that Mead’s percussion has given him the opportunity to explore his interest in making music.
“We get to talk to other people and we get to meet new kids,” Patrica Gomez-Herrera (‘27) says, agreeing with Mason. She says that percussion is something she is extremely passionate about and hopes to keep playing in the future.
Both Mason (‘25) and Patricia (‘27) are enthusiastic about future concerts and enjoyed performing at the recent concert on December 10th.
Reagan Detro (‘28), who has supported the unified percussion since middle school, helps coordinate. “I enjoy working with other students, and helping the community,” she said, “it helps the community come together as one.”
Reagan Detro (‘28) agrees that a unified percussion is an amazing opportunity for students, and it makes a difference in the culture of the school.
Unified students can perform with the band while gaining community and a greater part of the school. The next concert unified students will participate in is on February 21st.
