Yellow flower (poem)

Aspen Bingham, Content Editor

A pale yellow flower sits silently

Surrounded by fields of angelic red roses.

The sun beams perfectly on the roses

Making them shimmer like glitter.

Everyone’s drawn to the roses

That sparkle in the sunlight;

They almost always

Forget the pale yellow flower.

Although the flower is

Surrounded by roses, it feels as

Lonely as ever.

Hidden behind the roses’ beauty,

A dull yellow flower sits,

Wishing nothing but to be noticed.

No matter how tall

The yellow flower grows,

It’s covered

By the roses surrounding it.

Maybe if the yellow flower shimmered

Like the roses did,

It would be noticed too.
