Golden, Colorado celebrates National Golden Retriever Day
The town of Golden welcomed owners to bring their goldens and celebrate on Feb. 4
Saturday, Feb. 3 was National Golden Retriever Day. In honor of the day, Golden, Colorado hosted an event on the Feb. 4. Owners were encouraged to bring their golden retrievers and celebrate the day. Dogs that were leashed and trained were welcome at this event.
The celebration started with a “Pup Meet and Mingle in Parfet Park” at 11 a.m. Then the owners had a choice to give the dogs the classic “pup cup” and take a professional photo under the “Welcome to Golden” bridge at 11:45 a.m. There were also giveaways and vendor booths for attendees to participate in.
The official festivities ended at 1 p.m., opening Washington Avenue to vehicle traffic. Owners were asked to continue to walk around Golden with their furry friends because there were many dog-friendly deals and nearby trails to take advantage of.
