Many studies have proven that working with others can have many beneficial aspects. Team bonding projects encourage personal growth, increase job satisfaction, and reduce stress. Students are even more likely to take calculated risks that lead to innovation if they have others to support them.
A study from Yale University said that teamwork can improve efficiency and productivity. To add to that, good teamwork can also enhance the group’s outcome and the measurable effectiveness of organizations.
That is the main reason this after-school program was created. The study group will be led by Ms. LaPorte and Ms. Warren. The first idea of this study group was formed around the fall of 2023, when both Laport and Warren came across some studies that have been released that claim people who tend to study or do things in a group end up doing better on tests and their work.
“This gave us the idea to create a space where students could come from their AP classes and work in a group rather than having to find a McDonald’s to go to if they don’t have a car to drive, they could just stay at school and work on things for their AP class together as a group,” said Ms. Warren.
For those interested in the study group, you can stop by after school from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Ms. Warren’s room, D232. You don’t have to sign up; you just have to show up and be ready to be productive.
