Myriah Bermudez (‘25) is graduating this May. She will be attending Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona where she plans to major in biology, with an emphasis on behavioral science.
Her passion for science didn’t come out of nowhere. She took both Anatomy and AP Biology which ended up being her favorite classes she took throughout her high school career. She credits her love for science to Mr. White for making biology class engaging and enjoyable.
“He made it fun for me. I never would have thought I would have majored in biology or a science at all, but the way he taught it to me made every science class with him so much fun.”
Myriah has done a different sport every year including softball, soccer, and swimming for Erie High School. “I love swim the most though, it has definitely been my favorite sport. I’ve met so many amazing people, and I wish I started sooner.” This year, she is one of 13 seniors graduating from the EHS swim team.
Myriah’s advice for high school is to enjoy your high school experience. “… it really does go by so quickly,” she can’t believe that this is her senior year already.
Overall, her favorite activity was participating in student council, and being chosen for the student advisory cabinet. Some more of her achievements include maintaining the highest GPA she has ever earned, attributing it to AP Biology with Mr. White, which she did not expect to excel in.
We would like to wish Myriah good luck in all that she achieves in her bright future!
