Zac has many options in mind for his future career.

Zac Gomez (‘24) has a few career options in mind: a lawyer, a military officer, or even diving into financing.

Grand Canyon University is where he plans to join the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) and receive a scholarship. Once he graduates, he would like to be commissioned into the army as an officer where he’d like to expand his opportunities for additional scholarships and potential job offers.

As for high school, Zac holds a strong passion for football and has worked hard to contribute everything he can to the team, earning himself a spot on varsity during his junior and senior years. One thing he’s proud of is winning the second-team all-state title in football last year.

“That was special for me because I started the last five games of junior year. I had bigger goals and worked hard to give my team the best chance,” he said.

Zac has additionally involved himself in baseball and basketball, which he enjoys in the company of his friends. This year, he’s expanded to track and FBLA to take advantage of his senior year.

For fellow seniors, he believes students should jump at any opportunity since it’s their last year—clubs, extracurriculars, sports, and classes are just a few of the many possibilities.

On the academic side, Zac’s discovered his favorite class is AP US History. It was a challenging course, though he’s thankful for the impact it left on him. His favorite teacher is Ms. Fletcher, whom he admits to being one of the most helpful teachers he’s ever had.

As the school year begins to wrap up, Zac advises underclassmen to make the changes in their lives they wish to see.

“Either you let it happen and feel bad for yourself, or try everything in your power to change the outcome,” he said.

Zac’s sported lots of growth throughout his time in high school and is ready to begin his next chapter. We wish him the best as he moves forward with his plans after high school.
