After graduating, Leah Parmley (‘26) plans on attending Colorado State University (CSU) to pursue their interior design programs. Her alternate plan is to go into social media marketing, since she has previously enjoyed creating social media posts for her friends and for student council.
Leah plans on transferring during her second or third year, so that she can study in either Florence, Italy, or Spain, since she has been in Spanish all four years. The idea of travel has always appealed to Leah and is not something that she is afraid of. Previously, she has adventured to many countries, including, but not limited to, Panama, Jamaica, Costa Rica, and Italy. She hopes to enrich herself in her adult life by continuing to learn about other cultures.
Some of her favorite memories from high school have come from the summer before her senior year, where she hung out with her friends and was able to be herself with people who appreciate her for who she is. For the past few years, she has also gone on multiple trips to Mexico with different friends, allowing her to explore the world and experience new things with those who love her.
Throughout high school, Leah has been endlessly supported by her mom, dad and, older sister.
“They’re very supportive with everything I do, and [they] don’t want me to let people get the better of me. They always push me to do what I need to do instead of what’s better for other people…”
Leah would also like to shout out Alaina Rorn (‘26), her best friend since kindergarten. Even though they don’t go to the same school, Leah says that “She’s like a sister to me, and I would not be where I am without her and her encouragement.”
Leah’s advice to freshmen is to “Talk to everybody. Don’t be afraid that you’re [going to] embarrass yourself or they’re going to make fun of you, because it doesn’t really matter.” Her biggest regret was not being involved during her underclassman years when she still had time.
We wish Leah so much good luck during her future endeavors at CSU and beyond, and we know she will go far in life.
