UPDATE: Pais was confirmed dead around 10:45 at Echo Lake near Mt. Evans in the Denver area.

SVVSD, alongside all Denver-Metro area school districts, has canceled school amid a law-enforcement search for an armed woman.

Denver FBI officials and Denver area police are actively searching for Sol Pais, who is reported to have, “expressed an infatuation with Columbine,” according to the Jeffco Sheriff press conference regarding the issue.

According to the Jeffco Sherrif conference, Pais is considered to be a “credible threat,” however, there is “no specific information about any specific threat to any particular school.”

At least 18 districts announced the cancelation of school and after-school activities late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.

“We take these threats seriously,” said Jeffco Sherrif Jeff Shrader.

“We will update families on the situation by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.” the SVVSD tweeted in the early hours Wednesday.
