This week on the Mav Newsletter, Principal Rachael Ayers has announced that this year’s prom has been canceled. The cancelation is due to the extension of the social distancing guidelines put in place by Gov. Jared Polis until April 30.

Due to this, prom has been canceled with the hope of postponing the event until a later date.

Ayers has said the discussion will be held during the upcoming district leadership meetings.

To help the students to still enjoy their night, Ayers has encouraged all students planning to attend to “maybe dress up at home on May 2, dance with your sibling, mom or dad, and make a night of it to some good music.”

Although this is devastating to some, MHS hopes that you realize that this is for everyone’s safety. Stay safe and still try to enjoy your prom night at home.
