Snow days are now being replaced by online learning.

On Tuesday Nov. 3, Superintendent Don Haddad released communication through an email to parents and community members that explained SVVSD will no longer have traditional snow days. Instead, there will be synchronous direct instruction along with a mix of independent work.

On days where travel is unsafe and school buildings are closed, Haddad said, “Students will receive synchronous direct instruction with additional asynchronous time to complete assignments.”

In order to maximize learning, Hadadd said that students will need to learn online during these days. “We know that every additional day that a student can be in school is critical to their well-being and academic success.”

Online learning days may follow a different schedule than normal days. Principals are expected to share more plans later this week along with expectations for students.
