Drowning (poem)
The ocean ripples
through the
stormy night
crashing
into the shore.
As the waves grow
violent
it becomes hard to see
around me.
My body
fights
to stay
above
the water
the waves feel
everlasting
no end in
sight
impossible
to stay
above
I’m
drowning.
fighting seems
pointless
I’m too exhausted
to see the
sun is starting to
rise.
I surface
I get a
breath
of fresh
air.
No more
fighting
to live.
Once the ocean gets
dark
and
stormy
again
I’m pulled
right back
into the
violent
waves.
Drowning
all
over
again.
