Senior Caleb Elmore (‘24) is finishing off his high school career with many successes.

Caleb plans on going to Hastings College in Nebraska, where he will be majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in sports science.

Caleb has always had a passion for mechanical engineering. He took interest as a child, “My drive as a little kid, always wanting to take things apart and make them better,” he said.

Caleb has been a part of Mead’s baseball and football teams since his freshman year, and has played for many years prior.

He improved through football, reaching the varsity team his sophomore year after playing since seventh grade.

As for baseball, Caleb has taken familiarity since he was three years old. He reached the varsity level by his junior year, and he will continue to play in college.

Caleb is going into the Hastings baseball program through their NAIA association.

Though athletics has been a huge part of Caleb’s high school career, his academics have also been a super important factor for Elmore.

“Grades are a big part of my life and that was made clear to me when I was little.”

Caleb said he is ending his senior year with an impressive GPA of 3.7. Caleb has also been a part of Mead High’s NHS club, where it’s one of his biggest successes in high school.

“It’s not easy to maintain that sort of grade point average throughout your entire high school career, but it looks super good, and has made me very proud.”

Some of Caleb’s favorite academic experiences would be “[My] CTC courses with the automotive teacher.”

Caleb said, “If you’re starting your senior year, take every moment for it, cherish it because it only comes once… I kind of just started to slow down and take it all in a little bit more each day.”

We wish Caleb the best of luck in the future and look forward to seeing his progress!
