Emma Pitts (‘26) is finishing up her junior year, and focusing on growing in many aspects of her life.
Most of Emma’s free time is spent working at Larimore Chiropractic and Massage with her sister. She enjoys the life experience her job provides. She’s learning about insurance and handling money.
At school, Emma is part of the Polyphonic and Belle Voix choirs. She loves the change from her old choir and likes the wide range of voices.
“It’s nice. It’s a mixed choir so it‘s both treble, tenor, and bass voices. [It’s] a new thing for me, but it’s pretty cool,” Emma stated.
Emma looks forward to getting her schedule for next year and learning more about herself. She stated, “[I’m] actually really looking forward to just figuring out who I am and who I want to be.”
Emma plans to grow academically this year. She is working on getting better grades and being more focused on school.
Emma also intends to grow as a person. She is planning to be more genuine, and not trying to fit in.
“I’m just trying to mature as a person and figure out what I want to do [when I] grow up. Just grow in my job, but also in my schoolwork and my music,” Emma said.
She “realized that not everything should be handed to me, that I do have to work hard for things that I want.”
Emma’s mom is her main role model for her strength and determination.“[My mom] is very strong and independent and she works very hard for the things she wants and the things she feels are important.”
Aside from her mom, Emma looks up to Whitney Houston. Emma admires her music and how hard she worked. “She was an extremely hard worker. Her music was some of the best I’ve ever heard in my life.”
While Emma is unsure of a definite career path, she wants to help people in any way she can.
“I see that a lot of people are hurt in the world and they need help. They need people who are willing to help them,” Emma added.
Emma is an extremely kind and compassionate person. She goes out of her way to make everyone feel included. As a close friend of Emma, I wish her the best.
