Gabriella (Gabby) Haggerton (‘26) is a junior at Mead High School, and this year she is focusing on creating a healthy balance between school and friends.
When Gabby is free, she enjoys spending time with her friends. She’s focusing on creating healthy friendships that are based on compatibility.
Gabby mentioned that she often looks forward to her weekly hangouts with her friends.
“I just love the energy, and I love how every single time [my friends and I] hang out, it’s always like we’re screaming in the car,” she said.
Her favorite moments with her friends are laughing in the car as they eat ice cream and talk about boys and the latest gossip.
Gabby admires her friend Hana Hylenski (‘26) for earning a lot of scholarships, and for the fact that she runs the student rock climbing club at the school.
In Gabby’s own words: “I literally look to her for everything.”
Hana has been a big supporter and inspiration to Gabby.
Hana and Gabby often spend most of their time together. They are a great example of true friendship.
Thanks to the encouragement of Ms. Koenigseker, Gabby stepped up to be a team manager for volleyball. During the 2024 season, she helped with C-team. Gabby kept track of scoring for matches, helped with player statistics, and would run errands for Ms. K. She enjoyed hanging out with the team and helping them out when they would practice.
“It was a great community,” said Gabby.
She liked talking with the girls on the team and intends to help out again next year.
In addition to managing volleyball, Gabby has previously played soccer. She has been playing since she was about five years old and she plans to play again this year. Later on, she plans to try out new sports like tennis.
In the future, Gabby hopes to travel, particularly to Europe; hopefully visiting Ireland because of the beautiful scenery. Outside of Europe, she hopes to visit Greenland and Iceland. Inside the United States, Gabby hopes to travel to Washington because of the weather and the environment. She hopes to visit the Twilight Filming locations.
Gabby is a bright and welcoming person. She always looks out for her friends and makes others laugh.
