As I get ready to head off to Colorado State University (CSU), I’m finding it hard to put into words just how much this place has meant to me. Saying goodbye to what feels like my second home hasn’t been easy. For the past two and a half years, Wednesday nights at youth group weren’t just something I did, they were something I looked forward to, something that became a big part of who I am.
Youth group wasn’t just a place to hang out. It was where I found my people, where I learned what it really means to walk in faith, and where I grew in ways I never saw coming. Some of the most meaningful moments happened at winter and summer camp: worshiping together, laughing until we couldn’t breathe, and having those deep, life-changing conversations. Those trips weren’t just fun, they were transformative.
A huge part of that transformation has come from Pastor Tre Sills. Tre, you’ve taught me so much over the years, not just about faith, but about life. Your leadership and the way you live out your beliefs have shaped me in ways I didn’t even realize were possible at the time. The lessons you’ve shared and the encouragements you’ve set will stay with me no matter where I go.
Now, as I prepare to head off to college, I can’t help but feel both excited and a little nervous. It’s a big change, and stepping into the unknown is always a little scary. But I also know that everything I’ve experienced here—every friendship, every lesson, every prayer—will go with me. I’m not walking into this chapter empty-handed. I carry with me the faith, the memories, and the love this community has given me.
So, no, this isn’t goodbye. It’s simply a “see you later.” No matter where life takes me, this place, and each and every one of you will always feel like home.
