Sean Combs, famously known as ‘Diddy’ has been sentenced to 50 months in prison, fined $500,000, and ordered to five years of supervised release.
The criminal case against Combs has been going on since November 2023. He was sued by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura for abuse and rape. This lawsuit was settled within a day, but dozens of more individuals were inspired to speak about the same topic, and several lawsuits were filed against Combs.
Combs also faced a trial back in July and was found innocent for sex trafficking, but guilty for two lesser charges of transportation of former girlfriends. The judge denied bail in July, meaning Combs has been in prison until today’s sentencing.
There were many opinions varying on what Combs’ sentencing should be. Federal prosecutors were saying that he should serve no less than 11 years in prison, while Combs’ lawyers were saying he will be serving no more than 14 months.
Combs proceeded to write a letter to the judge asking for mercy: “Today, I humbly ask you for another chance.” This was the first time that Combs has made any personal statement about his case.
