Tania Flores (‘25) is a senior at Mead High School who has big plans and even better memories. Tania aims to attend CU Boulder, where she will major in environmental science and minor in ecology.
The classic advice given by adults is to do what you love. Tania listened to this advice full-heartedly, stating, “I really like nature, and I really like the world that we live in, and I think that it’s so important to protect it.”
While there are a couple of specific career paths that Tania could take with these degrees, she has identified one aspect of the environment that stands out as her passion: the ocean. While she has not decided how she will specifically use her degrees, there are a few leading options at the moment, more specifically, Oceanography: the scientific study of the ocean and how everything works.
While Tania is going through her senior year, she explains how she is “definitely a people person.” Her most cherished memories in high school weren’t a funny story from class or a class she just really connected with, but the simple, light-hearted fun she had with friends
The people who seemed to make the most difference in Tania’s experience at Mead High School were Mr. White and Mrs. Krack. “They were the teachers who pushed me most in high school,” she added. We all need teachers who push us in the way these teachers did for Tania.
I am so excited to see where Tania’s life takes her and how college goes for her!
