Richard Williams, known as Mr. Williams to his students, is a new student teacher at Mead High School. He co-teaches with Mr. White, who is also a science teacher here at Mead. He co-teaches AP Biology, regular Biology, and Anatomy and Physiology.
Before teaching, Mr. Williams coached track at Mead for a year. And before that, he was in the military and he was a language analyst, which means he translated Spanish for the military.
Mr. Williams went to high school in Arkansas and had a good experience with plenty of sports and friend groups. He played basketball, baseball, and ran track.
He majored in criminal justice and sociology and has two degrees: one in Spanish from the Defense Language Institute in the military, and the other in molecular biology from CU Boulder.
He first came to Mead because there was a job opening for track coaching, and he then started his graduate program for teaching. He will be getting his masters degree after this school year and is hoping to be able to apply for a job here.
His favorite part of Mead is the faculty and staff, stating, “We all seem to get along, which is nice, and they’re all very helpful to me.”
We wish Mr. Williams luck with his master’s degree and hope that he will rejoin us next school year.
