Kaylina Madrill-Gruenberger (‘25) plans to attend Front Range Community College after graduating high school. Although she hasn’t decided what to study yet, she is hoping to figure out what she could potentially do during her years at Front Range.
She is deciding on going to Law School or pursuing a career in education at the University of Northern Colorado or University of Colorado, Boulder, after her years at Front Range, stuck between the two. She further states how she wants to stay in Colorado and close to home.
Kaylina reveals she was online during her middle school years, which greatly affected her freshman year. “It took me a while to be my person and find the people who I was connected with. And I think this year specifically, I settled in with the group of people who I fit with and it’s been nice.”
Kaylina’s favorite memory from high school was joining journalism. She joined the class the second semester of her junior year. “The class rekindled my love for writing. I just love being able to explore whatever I want,” she explained.
Along with journalism, she is currently involved in Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and is involved in Interact Club, where they perform plenty of community service activities around town.
If Kaylina could be able to give her freshman self advice, she would say, “You need to stop caring about what other people think of you so much, and really be your own person. Because I just followed everybody around me, and that’s so emotionally taxing on you.” She thinks that if she had known this, she would have had a better and more fun life experience.
Kaylina’s biggest supporters are always her mother and father, who have shaped a lot of who she is today, explaining how, “they’re super out there and fun, so they helped me be comfortable in my personality and skin.”
Although she is nervous, Kaylina is excited about the next few steps in her life, and I am looking forward to seeing where she moves on to!
