The Women’s basketball season is coming to an end with familiar faces at the top. Teams like UConn, South Carolina, Texas, UCLA, and LSU are all looking to win a championship this year.
I have made multiple women’s brackets and studied multiple teams to make my brackets as accurate as possible.
Last year, I got the national championship game right, and I hope to do it again this year.
UConn is the best team in the country and will continue to show in this region. Whoever has to play UCOnn is in trouble, with their depth, experience, and their head coach Geno Auriemma, this makes them nearly impossible to beat. I don’t think that there will be any upsets in this region as UConn will cruise to the Final Four.
Region four features another historical coach on Dawn Staley for South Carolina. The only upset in this region is in the eight vs. nine game between South Carolina and Clemson.
I believe South Carolina will beat Clemson, creating a battle against the original USC in South Carolina. They are too strong, and will move on to the Final Four.
In Region two, there will once again be no upsets. However, the top two teams in this region are legit. UCLA and LSU will have an epic battle to advance to Phoenix, where the Final Four will take place. I believe the winner of this game will make the national championship game.
In Region three, there is a small upset in the four vs. five game. I think that Kentucky will beat West Virginia to face Texas in the Sweet 16. However, their season will end against Texas. Texas will go on to beat Michigan and reach the Final Four.
The Final Four features all one seeds. It may be controversial, but it shows the true dominance of these teams.
UConn and South Carolina are in a battle between the two best programs of the past decade. UConn has the edge this year, as they will beat South Carolina to have the opportunity for back-to-back titles.
The other game, between UCLA and Texas, will result in a UCLA win after a great regular season of the Bruins.
However, they will play UConn, who appears unbeatable this season. With elite talent, championship experience, and one of the greatest coaches in the history of the sport, they are built for this moment.
Therefore, UConn will win back-to-back titles for
the first time since the historic four-peat during the 2013 to 2016 seasons. It will be head coach Geno Auiremma’s 13th career championship.
