After a great season, finishing off second in the 4A Granite Peaks League,
The Mavericks are finally heading into the first round of playoffs.
This Thursday the Mead Mavericks will face off against the Thompson Valley Eagles. At the beginning of the season the Mavericks finished off the game 0-0 against Thompson Valley.
Mead is heading into the match with not losing a game since April 6th, and ended up equal footing into 1-1 just recently. Thompson Valley has had great success recently as they have not lost since March 23rd. In their most recent game they dominated Northridge with a 10-0 win.
As Thompson Valley is the 16th seed and Meads the 17th seed, the game is going to be extremely close. With weather conditions, the game will be slick and cold which may cause disadvantages to either team.
If Mead moves onto the second round, they will most likely be facing the 1st seed, Palmer Ridge, in Colorado Springs for the second round of playoffs.
