Gary Shields re-elected as Mead’s mayor

Though the results were close, Shields came out ahead

The town of Mead recently had its mayoral election. Current Mayor Gary Shields was re-elected for another 4 year term.

The race was close, though one person did earn significantly less votes. According to documents released by the Town Clerk, Mayor Shields received 449 votes and the runner-up, Colleen Whitlow, received 397.

The election was held on April 3rd and 1087 people participated.

Shields and his family expressed gratitude after finding out he had won. 

There are also new members elected to the Board of Trustees. The Longmont Times Call reports that, “The three newcomers will join Shields as well as Debra Brodhead, Terri Hatch and Joyce Palaszewski on the board.”
