The Mead Boys Soccer team had a great start to the season, showing passion and commitment every time they step on the field. Opening the season with an overall record of 5-2-1, the Mavericks have proven their spot. Mead’s success recently reflects not only talent, but the chemistry that they’ve built off the field.
That bond was something that the players brought up right away. Gavin Knight (‘27) said most of the team’s success is caused primarily by how close they are outside of the sport.
“Off the field, we just talked with each other, and we are great friends and close with each other.”
On the field, that friendship is shown in the way each athlete plays during the game. As a team, their style is focused on moving as one. They are constantly communicating and anticipating each other’s actions, helping them speed up their play and efficiency. “We just play quick, and we work well as a group,” said Chapo Ramirez (‘27). Highlighting the relationship between the players and how it benefits each of them on and off the field .
The bond between the Mead Boys Soccer team has been one of the major keys to success this season. The friendship created on and off the field helps the players push each other to perform better at practices and games, making the team’s chemistry natural. They don’t just play the sport together, but support each other through every challenge.
