MHS bands invite MMS band students to hold their concert at MHS.

On Oct. 18, MHS bands invited Mead Middle School bands to hold their fall concert in the MHS Auditorium. With features from MMS seventh grade, MHS Advanced Jazz, MMS eighth grade, MHS Intermediate Jazz, and MHS marching band, the event held many exciting performances.

MHS Advance Jazz kicked off the night with “Do Whatcha Wanna” and “Just a closer walk with thee”, arranged by Mark Braud, before concluding with the Youngblood Brass Band’s “Brooklyn”.

MMS band director Megan Rubin directed seventh grade as they played “Shadow Fire” by Randall D. Standridge, “Midnight Mission” by Brian Balmages, and “Ancient Hunters” by Sean O’Laughlin.

The Intermediate Jazz band at MHS played “Fly Me to the Moon” by Bart Howard and arranged by Mark Taylor.

To conclude the night, the 8th grade band, also directed by Ms. Rubin, played “Feel It Still” and “Action Scene”.

To conclude on an exciting note, eighth grade confidently marched alongside MHS to perform “Paint it Black”.

As the bands came together to perform, the audience was impressed by the massive, confident sounds from both, alongside the spark of the Mead community.
